The kūpeʻe is a nocturnal animal that hides during the day and appears to feed only on the darkest of nights. The name of this piece comes from 2 Hawaiian words, “lei” meaning adornment, and “mahina” meaning moon.

green tea leaves is handcrafted, cut, shaped, and finished with a lightly hammered texture.
